Stanmore’s coaching programme is the engine driving our success, led by Joel Fernandes, a UKCC Level 2 Lead Coach and non-playing captain of Middlesex County teams, and supported by Josh Fernandes, a dedicated UKCC Level 1 coach specialising in junior development. Alongside elite guidance from Joel, Josh plays a key role running junior sessions—tailoring training to the needs of young athletes and creating a nurturing atmosphere in every lesson.
Training occurs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sunday mornings, where players benefit from expert-led group sessions as well as private coaching opportunities. The club offers a range of competitive experiences: seniors and juniors participate in the Harrow & Wembley and Barnet Leagues, while our younger talents advance through the National Cadet League, Junior Cadet League, and Junior British League. Stanmore’s cadet and junior teams have claimed division titles and continued to represent Middlesex at regional and national level—proof of the strong developmental environment within the club.
This coaching-led, competition-focused model supports every member’s growth. Beginners build confidence, league players discover their competitive edge, and gifted juniors gain a clear path to represent county or country. With Joel’s deep experience and Josh’s emerging role, we offer both high-level coaching and a familial club atmosphere.
Stanmore Table Tennis Club doesn’t just build players, it builds potential. Whether you're just starting out or aiming for elite performance, our coaching, competitive structure, and values-based ethos position every member to thrive in sport—and in life.
Beyond the playing area, Stanmore Table Tennis Club offers a range of additional amenities designed to make the club welcoming and accessible to all. We recognise that providing a complete club experience goes beyond the tables, and have worked hard to ensure that both players and visitors feel comfortable every time they attend a session or match.
The club is fully equipped with modern toilet and washing facilities, including accessible toilets to accommodate members and visitors with additional needs. Cleanliness and hygiene are important to us, and our facilities are maintained to a high standard to ensure that everyone feels comfortable throughout their time at the club. A well-equipped kitchen area is available for use during breaks or after matches, offering space for players, coaches, and families to relax, socialise, and build the strong sense of community that Stanmore Table Tennis Club is known for. This relaxed environment helps foster friendships and create an enjoyable social aspect alongside serious training and competition.
Accessibility is further supported by the club’s large on-site parking area, which ensures easy access for members travelling from across the region. The spacious car park allows for convenient arrival and departure, while also helping to reduce any parking issues for the local community. The club encourages responsible parking and works closely with the community to maintain positive relationships with local residents.
These supporting facilities reflect Stanmore’s commitment to providing a complete and enjoyable experience for all members. Whether attending for regular coaching, league matches, or simply enjoying the sport recreationally, players and their families can feel confident that the club offers a welcoming, inclusive, and professionally managed environment every step of the way.
