Double Action Weekend for Stanmore Stars

Stanmore Table Tennis Club was in action again over the weekend, with Neev Bakshi competing in the Under 15s and Under 17s at Ashford Table Tennis Club, and Daniyal Janmohamed playing in the Under 12s and Under 13s.
Neev gained valuable experience in the Under 15s, but his big success came in the Under 17s. Growing stronger as the day progressed, he went on to win the Under 17 Consolation Draw — an outstanding achievement.
Even more impressive is that Neev has only been playing table tennis for six months. A cricketer by background, his rapid development is down to the hard work and late evenings he puts in at Stanmore. A fantastic milestone — well done, Neev!
Daniyal produced another superb performance across both age groups. In the Under 12s, he won all his group matches with confident, attacking play before narrowly losing 3–2 to the top seed in the quarter-finals.
He then stepped up to the Under 13s, showing tremendous composure and maturity to reach the final. In a thrilling match, he pushed the top seed all the way to a deciding fifth set, eventually losing 12–10 in a nail-biting finish.
Daniyal continues to impress with his fearless approach, resilience under pressure and never-give-up attitude — qualities that are setting him apart.
Stanmore is incredibly proud of both boys. Their commitment and hard work are clearly paying off.
