Elvin Junior Plate Champions
We’re extremely proud to announce that Maahi, Rahul and Frankie have won the Elvin Junior Plate — a prestigious team event that brings together junior players from across Divisions 3 to 5 in the Wembley & Harrow Table Tennis League. Their performance was nothing short of outstanding, and this win reflects just how far they’ve come as a team.
The Elvin Plate is always a tough competition, designed to test the depth of talent in the league’s junior divisions. Teams must demonstrate not only technical skill but also tactical understanding, teamwork and mental toughness. Our players certainly delivered on all fronts.
Representing Stanmore’s Division 5 team, Maahi, Rahul and Frankie went into the competition with quiet confidence and a desire to prove themselves. They progressed through the early rounds with discipline and focus, showing great energy at the table and supporting each other between points — the hallmark of a true team.
Their biggest test came in the final, where they were matched up against a strong Division 4 side. On paper, the odds were against them, but on the day, our players rose to the occasion. They played with conviction, attacking with precision and defending with resilience. It was a performance that showed maturity, especially given their younger age group and lower division standing.
Beating a higher-division team in the final is a huge accomplishment and a testament to the incredible progress all three players have made this season. Maahi, Rahul, and Frankie have been working hard week after week — putting in the effort at training, staying committed to their league matches, and constantly pushing to improve.
To see that hard work rewarded with silverware is always special. This win not only marks a great day for them as individuals, but it’s also a proud moment for us as a club.
Well done to the whole team — you’ve made Stanmore Table Tennis Club proud!
