England Futures Success
We are incredibly proud to announce that Daniyal and Bethany, both aged just 10, were selected to attend the Futures Hope trial weekend at the prestigious Elite Training Centre in Sheffield on 31st May 2025. This is a huge milestone for both players and a fantastic moment for Stanmore Table Tennis Club.
The Futures Hope trials are part of Table Tennis England’s elite development pathway, and only 22 of the most promising young players in the country were invited to take part. Selection was based on performances at the Mark Bates Ltd U10–13 National Championships, and we’re thrilled that both Daniyal and Bethany caught the eye with their strong results, attitude, and the way they carried themselves on and off the table.
At the Nationals, Bethany won a bronze medal in the Under 11 girls, and Daniyal secured bronze in the Under 10 boys – both incredible achievements at such a high-level event. Their performance, effort and sportsmanship earned them this incredible opportunity to train with the country’s top pathway coaches.
During the weekend, the players were led by National Pathway Coach Charlotte Carey, alongside a brilliant team of performance coaches including Nat Green, Ben Barlow, and Olly Tyndall. The focus was on developing a strong foundation – with sessions covering dynamic warm-ups, footwork, movement patterns, and targeted on-table drills designed to sharpen decision-making and technique under pressure.
The level of professionalism and intensity was clear to see, and both Daniyal and Bethany stepped up and gave their all throughout the weekend. Being selected for this kind of elite training at such a young age speaks volumes about their talent, mindset and potential.
Well done to both of you – Stanmore TTC is incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved and excited to see where your journey takes you next.
