Harry Finch Cup Champions
We’re absolutely delighted to share that Bethany, Krit and Rick — representing our Division 7 team — have been crowned Harry Finch Cup Champions for 2025! The final took place on 1st April 2025, and our team put in a dominant display to defeat the Division 6 winners in straight sets.
The Harry Finch Cup is a knockout team event within the Wembley & Harrow Table Tennis League, designed to challenge teams across different divisions. It offers a brilliant opportunity for lower-division sides to test themselves against higher-ranked opposition. For a Division 7 team to go all the way and lift the trophy is a truly outstanding achievement.
Our players, Bethany, Krit and Rick, approached the competition with focus, energy, and belief from the very first round. As the tournament progressed, they only got stronger, building momentum and showing great chemistry as a team. By the time they reached the final, they were ready to give it everything — and they did just that.
In the final, they faced tough opponents — the champions of Division 6 — but played with confidence and composure throughout. Each of them stepped up when it mattered, and they sealed the title with a comprehensive victory in straight sets. It was a performance full of discipline, sharpness, and team spirit — everything we strive to instil at Stanmore Table Tennis Club.
For Bethany, Krit, and Rick, this victory is a well-earned reward for their commitment throughout the season. They’ve shown up to training regularly, taken feedback on board, and kept pushing to improve every week. Their development has been clear to see, and this cup win is the perfect way to cap off a brilliant run of form.
Congratulations to our Harry Finch Cup champions — you’ve done yourselves and the club proud!
