A massive congratulations to Sayan and Rohan from Stanmore Table Tennis Club for pulling off something truly special in the Harry Finch Plate Final!

Our Stanmore Division 3 team went into the final against a very strong Oshwal side – but with only two eligible players available, meaning we were forced to forfeit 4 of the 9 matches from the start. That meant one thing: we had to win every single match we could play – no margin for error.

And that’s exactly what they did.

Sayan and Rohan won all five matches, showing incredible composure, fight, and team spirit to clinch the win and take home the winners' medals. It was an unbelievable performance, especially given the pressure and the odds stacked against them. Most teams would have written the match off as impossible. But not these two.

They were up against a well-established and consistent Oshwal Division 3 team, but from the very first point, Sayan and Rohan looked sharp, focused and determined. Every shot was played with intent, every rally fought with heart. Their doubles game was on point, and their singles performances were solid throughout. They simply didn’t put a foot wrong.

This win is not just about medals – it’s about character, resilience and belief. For two players to carry the weight of an entire team in a cup final and come out on top is something you don’t see often. It was a proud moment for the club and a match that will definitely go down in Stanmore TTC history.
