Herts schools individuals success

Well done to all players who took part in the Herts Schools Individuals event held at Batts Table Tennis Club over the weekend. It was a fantastic competition and Stanmore was proudly represented by five players across the categories.
A huge congratulations goes to Daniyal Janmohamed, who won the Under 11s title in dominant fashion. Daniyal was unbeaten throughout the entire tournament, not dropping a single set, and as a result has qualified for the Butterfly National Schools Individual Championship Finals taking place in Wolverhampton in April. This is a superb achievement and a reflection of the hard work and commitment Daniyal has shown in training over the past few months.
Stanmore also enjoyed further success in the Under 11s with Riki Shah, who reached the final unbeaten before losing to Daniyal. Riki played an excellent tournament and should be very proud of his performance.
Strong performances were also put in by Raphael Haria and Shay Kalaria, who both competed well in the Under 11s and gained valuable match experience.
In the Under 13s, Krit Dahal produced a strong showing, winning all of his group matches and progressing to the round-robin stage. He fought hard in a closely contested five-set match and reached the final round alongside two other players. Although he narrowly missed out on victory, Krit competed extremely well in a very competitive category and showed great determination throughout.
Well done to all players who took part — a fantastic set of results and performances from everyone involved.
