London Youth Games Success - 2023
A huge congratulations to Shayan, Khush, and Josh from Stanmore Table Tennis Club, who represented the London Borough of Harrow at the London Youth Games on 4th July 2023. The event took place at the iconic Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with teams from all 32 London boroughs competing in what is one of the most prestigious junior multi-sport events in the country.
We are thrilled to report that Harrow were crowned champions, finishing 1st out of all 32 boroughs – an incredible achievement and one that will go down as a proud moment in Stanmore TTC’s history.
Shayan, Khush and Josh all played an important part in securing this result. Across the day, the players were involved in both singles and doubles matches, with a format that required not only skill and stamina but also team strategy, composure, and consistent execution.
The Copper Box Arena – famously used for the 2012 Olympic Games – provided the perfect backdrop for a day of high-level, high-pressure matches. Our Stanmore trio rose to the occasion and showed just why they are among the top young talents in the region. Each match demanded concentration and fight, and the boys delivered in every round, eventually leading Harrow all the way to the top of the table.
To come first out of 32 boroughs is no small feat – it reflects not only the quality of the players but also the training, support and mindset developed at club level. We are especially proud that all three members of this winning team are part of Stanmore Table Tennis Club. Their success is a reminder of the strength of our programme and the standard our juniors are capable of achieving.
Well done to Shayan, Khush, and Josh – and congratulations to the Harrow borough team for bringing home the title!
