Nationals Success For Bethany
A huge congratulations to Bethany from Stanmore Table Tennis Club, who delivered a fantastic performance at the Mark Bates Ltd National Championships on Sunday 9th June 2024 in Wolverhampton. Competing in the Under 10s Girls event, Bethany finished as the runner-up, earning herself a silver medal at one of the biggest and most prestigious events in the country.
This national-level tournament brought together the best young talent from across England, and Bethany certainly proved she belonged on that stage. Throughout the competition, she displayed her usual mix of grit, focus, and determination, navigating her way through the rounds to reach the final. It was a highly competitive field, but Bethany rose to the occasion with some exceptional play.
Her journey to second place at such a high-calibre event is a massive achievement – and one that speaks volumes about her potential and dedication to the sport. To make it to the podium at a Table Tennis England national event is no small feat, especially at such a young age.
Bethany has been steadily improving over the last year, with strong performances at 1-star and 2-star events across the country. But to take a medal home from the National Championships is something truly special. The experience of competing in a top-tier venue, surrounded by England’s most promising juniors, will only help her grow further.
Everyone at Stanmore TTC is incredibly proud of her result. It’s not just the medal – it’s the way she played, the attitude she brought to the table, and the composure she showed under pressure. This is just the beginning for Bethany, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
Well done Bethany – national silver medallist at just 9 years old!
