Stanmore london academy success

Stanmore players were in action at the London Academy on Saturday, competing across multiple age groups in a 2-Star tournament.
Daniyal took part in the Under 11s Mixed event, entering the competition as top seed. Despite the expectation, he remained focused and grounded, concentrating on producing his best performances throughout the day.
In the morning group stage, Daniyal delivered a series of confident displays, winning all four matches in straight sets. He recorded 3–0 victories against Ivor Hastings, Rea Kola, Evan Stoll and Matteo Cipolla to progress comfortably into the afternoon stages.
The afternoon saw Daniyal placed into Band 1, an exceptionally strong group featuring Hattie Xiao (current England No.1 Under 11 Girls), Calen Dawson (England No.11 Under 11 Boys), Oscar Todhunter (England No.8 Under 11 Boys) and Sanav Sethi (England No.4 Under 11 Boys). With such a high standard across the group, every match was competitive and no outcome was guaranteed.
Daniyal started strongly with an emphatic 3–0 win over Hattie Xiao (11–3, 11–1, 11–3), followed by another straight-sets victory against Calen Dawson, 3–0 (11–4, 12–10, 11–7). He then faced Oscar Todhunter in a closely fought encounter, coming through in the deciding set with an 11–8 win.
The final match of the day was against Sanav Sethi, England Under 11 Boys No.4. This proved to be a high-quality contest, with Daniyal showing excellent composure to secure a 3–0 victory in three tight sets (11–7, 11–9, 11–8).
With these results, Daniyal claimed the gold medal for the second successive tournament and maintained his unbeaten record at London Academy. Stanmore Table Tennis Club is extremely proud of Daniyal’s achievements. He has been training with great commitment and consistency, and it is pleasing to see his hard work rewarded in competition.
Stanmore Table Tennis Club was also well represented throughout the day. Shay produced a strong performance in Band 4 of the Under 11s. In the Under 13s, both Krit and Aditya performed well, with Krit recording a particularly notable result by defeating England Under 13 No.20, Vihaan Mittal, in straight sets (3–0), knocking him out of the draw. Krit was unable to progress beyond the next stage, but this nevertheless represented a strong performance and an excellent run.
Frankie and Neev also performed well in the Under 15s. Stanmore was delighted to have so many players competing across the age groups and is proud of the collective effort and performances shown throughout the tournament.
