U13 Success at London Academy
A big congratulations to Maahi from Stanmore Table Tennis Club, who took home the gold medal at the London Academy 2 Super Series* in Edgware on Saturday 1st June 2024, winning the Girls Under 13s category in style.
Maahi put in a brilliant performance across the day, playing a total of eight matches and winning an outstanding seven of them. Her only loss came in a close battle, but she showed tremendous consistency, composure, and class to come out on top overall. This event attracted some very talented players from across the region, but Maahi proved once again why she’s one to watch.
She registered wins over Grace Wang, Meba Endashew, Grace Liu, Sienna Svoboda, Ruby Rebecca Gandi Bamidele, Makia Gemeda and Assil Sarri – a fantastic set of victories against strong opposition. Match after match, Maahi stayed focused and determined, showing her ability not only to stay calm under pressure but also to close out key points with confidence.
To come away with the gold medal in such a competitive field is a great achievement. It’s also another sign of her continued progress this season – and she’s definitely building momentum with each tournament. The hard work in training, match sharpness, and tactical maturity are all beginning to show, and it’s clear that Maahi is going from strength to strength.
Everyone at Stanmore TTC is extremely proud of her results. Winning 7 out of 8 matches and being crowned the overall winner at a 2-star Super Series event is no easy task – and she earned every bit of it.
Well done Maahi – champion of the Girls U13s at London Academy!
