Under 19s Limpsfield Success
We were proud to see Josh represent Stanmore Table Tennis Club with another excellent performance at the Limpsfield 1 Star Under 19s tournament on 20th July 2024. Competing in the main draw, Josh finished runner-up, producing a string of high-quality matches and narrowly missing out on the title in a hard-fought final.
Josh’s route to the final was particularly impressive, with several notable wins along the way. He defeated Leo Gardner, Oliver Perrett, Jaydan Griffiths, Omar Faruqe Mohammad Wasi, and Zachary Culverwell, all of whom are strong players with solid records on the junior circuit. His standout result came in the semi-final, where he beat the tournament’s top seed — a significant achievement that underlined the level of play Josh maintained throughout the event.
The final was a closely contested battle against Louis Alexander, and it went the full distance. Josh fought hard in every set, and although he eventually lost 3–2, the match could have gone either way. It was an excellent display from both players and a fitting conclusion to a high-quality tournament.
Josh’s consistency and mental strength have become key features of his game this season. He is continuing to build on previous performances and finding ways to compete strongly, even under pressure. The way he approached each match at Limpsfield — tactically aware, composed, and fully committed — is something we have seen developing over recent months and were pleased to see applied so effectively here.
To reach the final and come so close to the title, especially after defeating the top seed, is a performance to be proud of. Congratulations to Josh on another excellent tournament — your progress continues to reflect well on the club, and we look forward to what’s next.
