Wembley & Harrow Junior Doubles Runners Up
A big well done to Sayan and Josh, who finished as runners-up in the Junior Doubles (Under 19s) at the Wembley & Harrow Closed Table Tennis Championships on 3rd March 2024.
The event, held at Salvatorian College in Harrow Wealdstone, brought together some of the best junior talent from across the Wembley & Harrow League. The standard of competition was high, and every round was packed with quality matches and intense rallies.
Sayan and Josh showed great chemistry on the table, combining well as a doubles pair with sharp footwork, intelligent positioning, and calm decision-making. They navigated their way through a competitive draw, winning their early rounds with confident performances and solid teamwork.
As the competition progressed, their partnership became even more effective. They covered for each other well, mixed up their placements, and kept the pressure on opponents. Each match brought a new challenge, but they continued to play smart, tactical table tennis all the way to the final.
In the final match, they came up against a tough pair who just edged the contest. Despite falling short in the final, Sayan and Josh can be very proud of their performance across the day. Finishing second in the Under 19s category at a league-wide tournament is a strong achievement, especially given the strength and depth of the field.
This result adds to an impressive string of performances from both players this season, and their consistent efforts are clearly paying off. The club is proud to see two of our players reaching the final of a major local event.
Well done again to Sayan and Josh – runners-up in Junior Doubles!
