A massive congratulations to Josh and Ryan from Stanmore Table Tennis Club for being crowned Under 19s Boys Doubles Champions at the Wembley & Harrow Closed Championships held on 1st March 2023.

This was a truly dominant performance from the Stanmore pairing, who went through the entire tournament without dropping a single set. From the opening round to the final, Josh and Ryan were in complete control – demonstrating great chemistry, tactical awareness, and consistent high-level shot execution.

Doubles matches can often be unpredictable, with rhythm and teamwork playing such a key role. But Josh and Ryan made it look seamless throughout. Their movement around the table, transitions between attacking and defensive shots, and mutual understanding were second to none. Their serve and receive combinations were tight, and their ability to stay composed under pressure ensured they kept control even when faced with determined opponents.

In the final, the pair played with confidence and a clear plan, moving their opponents around the table and putting away winners at key moments. Their blend of precision and aggression ensured they closed out the match in straight sets, wrapping up a flawless campaign and bringing home yet another title for Stanmore TTC.

This is a huge achievement, and both players deserve full credit for their outstanding display. Josh continues to build on an already impressive season, while Ryan showed again why he’s becoming one of Stanmore’s most reliable and rising stars.

To win a competitive event like this without dropping a set is no small feat – it reflects the hard work, training and focus that both players bring to the table week in, week out.
