A huge congratulations to Josh and Shayan from Stanmore Table Tennis Club for securing a 1st and 2nd place finish in the Wembley & Harrow Under 19s Boys Singles Final on 1st March 2023.

Both players had a fantastic run throughout the competition, displaying the composure, consistency and shot-making that have become their trademark at Stanmore. The tournament saw some of the best young talent from the region competing, but it was clear early on that Josh and Shayan were on top form and heading for something special.

In the final, it was an all-Stanmore affair, with Josh and Shayan facing off after battling their way through the earlier rounds. The match didn’t disappoint – it was a high-quality contest filled with fast rallies, tight serves and clever tactics. The two are close friends and regular training partners, which made the final even more intriguing.

In the end, Josh edged out Shayan in a thrilling 3-2 victory, showing tremendous fight and nerve in the deciding set. It was a match that could have gone either way, but both players showed their class and sportsmanship throughout.

To have both finalists from Stanmore TTC in such a prestigious event is a proud moment for the club. It highlights the level of talent we are nurturing and the benefits of the strong training culture fostered by our coaching team.

Well done to Josh for becoming the U19s Champion, and to Shayan for a fantastic runner-up performance. We’re proud of both of you for putting Stanmore Table Tennis Club firmly on the map.
