Stanmore Table Tennis Club is celebrating a phenomenal weekend of achievements from our relentless young star, Daniyal Janmohamed, who secured a stunning double victory by winning both the Men’s and Under-16s events at his community Ismaili tournament held at Bushey Leisure Centre!

To win a Men's open event at just 11 years old is an extraordinary feat that speaks volumes about the incredible hard work, dedication, and ambition Daniyal pours into becoming the best player he can be.

Daniyal's day began with an unexpected challenge when he stepped up to play in the Men's tournament in the morning following a late drop-out. Showing maturity far beyond his years, he successfully navigated his way through a tough group stage. Refusing to slow down, he powered through his quarter-final and semi-final matches to reach the showpiece final. Up against an older and much more experienced top premier division player, Daniyal faced his ultimate test. In a tense, nail-biting final, he held his nerve to triumph 3-2, sealing the championship with an 11-9 victory in a thrilling fifth-set decider to collect the winners' trophy.

Having already fought through an exhausting and glorious morning battle, Daniyal returned to the tables in the afternoon for the Under-16s event. While the pace felt a little more familiar, his clinical focus remained unmatched. He smoothly worked his way through the rounds to reach the final once again, securing a clean sweep of trophies for the day.
